Fiberfriends are the best friends

Fiberfriends are the best friends and I mean that with all my heart! I have met some of the coolest peeps on this Fiber journey and Saturday was no different.

Fiberfriends

If you follow Knitty City on Instagram you will know they are holding Indie Dyer trunkshows every Saturday this month. I missed the first trunkshow. This time Shelbey (my NYC driver) was off so in the car we jumped! This Saturday was Hubcityfibers. It was really nice to meet the owner Lillian and even nicer (is that a word?) to meet her yarn 😊 She has been in business for 3 years, go check her out.

I also met Christine who was hanging out and knitting. I promise makers are just the kindest folks ever. Thank you ladies for being so kind to me and my Shelbey. I won’t talk about the rude woman that offered my baby $5 to help her? Wait what? I’m so happy I wasn’t standing there because….

I can not mention a Knitty City without Nancy Ricci. She has to be one of the nicest people I have ever met. She has this calming way of making you feel welcome and I love that about her.

The next stop was the goal and that was to meet Felicia, the owner of Stringthingstudio. If you are following Kristglassknits on YouTube you want to meet a Felicia too.

The shop is brand new. She opened in June. Who was happy they made it there yesterday?  I am going to get her to do a spotlight, but in the meantime, if you are in Brooklyn…go!

I was so enthralled with the energy and warmth of this cozy spot, that I didn’t take pictures of the shop. Watch her interview with a Kristi and you will understand. This trip was #operationhugfelicia. I was focused. The next visit I will focus on the shop, I promise.

The bonus was Shameka was there knitting up fabulous sweater number 5000, lol! The day was just perfect! We ended it with the best buttermilk fried chicken sammich (that’s what my grandmother called a real good sandwich) from Bar Basic. Listen after you leave Felicia, go there..yummy.

How was your Saturday!

Knit on my fiber friends….knit on

  2. Vicariously I was there, too! 🙂. Felt the exciting energy as I read your blog. Sounds like it was worth a road trip to New York with my Philly crew. 😉
