GGmadeit’s Favorite Things

We are about to complete the first week of November which means the holidays are here! I had to run to the mall a few weeks back and Macy’s had the Christmas stuff out already. I was like, noooooo I am not ready! I mean at that point folks was still getting halloween costumes. Although, NOW, the holiday can be quite depressing for me, my Shelbey refuses to let me NOT have Christmas. Those first 2 years after my parents..yea NOPE! I quit Thanksgiving and Christmas and  I am the Christmas queen normally…so no more dwelling for me, let’s get it on!

I often hear this in relations to gifts for me “I don’t know nothing about no yarn gifts” hahahahahaha the fact that they care enough to want to get me something yarn related always warms my soul. I am quite sure other knitters have the same issue, so I gave birth to GGmadeit’s Favorite Things: A Gift Guide for the knitter in your life.  You ready to see what is on my list? GGmadeit’s Favorite Things

1. Yarn of course..but instead of trying to figure out which yarn your knitter likes give them a gift card to their favorite local yarn store. It doesn’t matter if the store online only this still works. You guys know for me here in NJ there is Knit-a-Bit or Do Ewe Knit? and online I would take ANYTHING from The BagSmith. I love their books and ALL the yarn. Most places offer gift cards and if they don’t you can still get a visa card and advise they have been gifted a yarn shopping spree. You see how I did that? 
2. Books – knitting books and magazines are often desired but never purchased. Like the brand new, just released 60 Quick Cowls. I am so sure you will get kissed in the mouth for that baby. I mean it has 60 cowls in it and they are quick. I mean what knitter wouldn’t want this book. There are so many out there that would be cherished. Any of the Vogue Knitting Books or the Brioche books from the queen herself Nancy Marchant. I think that is the latest book in the picture down there. I swear I am going to be a brioche master one of these days! 
3. Notions – and by this I mean needles, big needles, small needles, pom pom makers, or the coveted knitter’s keep from CocoKnits. Man listen if I opened a gift and that baby was inside..yup you are kitting kissed square on the lips! hahahahahahahahahahaa. I hope Shelbey reads this because I want the regular sized Giants from Go Girl Knitting. Hint hint! 
4. Project bags – trust me any knitter worth her weight MUST have project bags. Some of my favorites are any of the Knerdshop bags. You all have seen my “knitting is the new black bag” and I saw this one while in VA. AND  have you seen that GGmadeit bag? LOL! 
5. Etsy Giftcards – are the absolute best. Just about every knitter I know has a favorite shop on ETSY. The possibilities are endless, stitch markers, buttons, labels, packing stuff, needles, yarn I mean an ETSY gift card will go so far! A box with my name on it and an ETSY card in it, YUP kiss in the mouth, so brush your teeth and be ready.
6. BONUS gift idea- a mug, yes we all love mugs and if it has a cute saying on it relating to yarn, then all the better. Like my Ravelry mug or my straight outta yarn, never mug. 
7. Bonus Bonus – if you don’t have an Ablet in your life…I won’t judge..not in public anyway. LOL
