Kings County Fiber Festival – I went

Kings County Fiber Festival, the 6th annual, took place this weekend. Maxcine the creator has been inviting me for the past three years and baby this year was the year. First can we discuss my fear of driving in NY? Listen, I was excited until I realized my daughter had to work. OH GOD, what was I supposed to do then? The fear was real guys, trust me. Insert Bonnye Jean, who agreed to meet me at Penn Station and jump on the subway.

Bonnye and I had a blast, even though what was called a short walk from the subway almost took us out! LOL! We made it there and enjoy the sights and the sounds. There is something so alive about NYC and Brooklyn on this perfect afternoon, did not disappoint. The trains were running late, but we made it and had a good ole time. We missed the arm knitting class and I got so caught up meeting folks that I didn’t go back and paint my own yarn. Slip Stitch Needle Craft’s booth is where you could paint your own yarn and she had bulky too 🙁

I love meeting my fiber family and I meet a few at the Festival. Can I tell you all how much I love meeting you? so when a lady walked up to me and said “I heard you are famous!” my heart stopped for a moment. Guys I am just me, the same GG you have gotten to know, nothing famous about that. I don’t know why that makes me uncomfortable, but I promise I love meeting you guys. Michele from Harlem Needle Arts almost made me cry, her delight in meeting me almost made my heart explode. harlme

I have put together a little video and I just realize I didn’t get a picture with Maxcine, dang it! Well you can read about the festival here as I did a spotlight on her last year.

Can you believe the only thing I purchased was some Ciabatta salt and pepper bread? Well that’s because I am broke as a joke, but let me tell you about the Swancho. I tried that baby on and yes ma’am I am absolutely going to make one. I am currently searching for the perfect shades of orange. Check out the pattern here it was such a pleasure to meet the ladies from The Wooliers

Knit on my fiber friends….knit on
