Last week with GG and her knitting life

Wow! The holidays are over and I just realized I hadn’t posted in over a week. I’m sorry, but the good part is I have stuff to share! Lol! Last week was a great week. We have FOs and mail and just good stuff, let’s get started.

First, I have to say a great big thank you to Melissa Cudrow, co-owner of Espace Tricot for making my Bobble Shrug as a store sample. Omgawd guys, the love I have been receiving has been amazing. Wait am I repeating myself? Did I tell you all this already? I did?

Last week

I don’t know if I shared my current WIP here on the blog, but I finished it last week Friday. The project in question is the Swancho by The Wooliers. When I saw this piece in Brooklyn at the Kings County Fair, I had to make it, HAD to knit this ASAP. I was having a conversation with Adella Colvin, who I fondly refer to as “that damn Della”, and told her I wanted to make this but in shades of orange. I told you guys about this already so let’s get to the finished object 🙂

Finished object

I am not gonna waste words here, I will just give you two: IN LOVE 😍 The picture below was taken before it was even finished. Lol

The pictures below depict the completed project. I was so excited that I went outside and took the pictures myself. Can you tell?

My thoughts

The pattern, at first glance, I thought Ugh that’s a ton of stockinette. The fact is this, yes it’s a lot of knitting and purling, however; the strategic blocks of seed stitch is the answer. Those blocks of texture and the color changes keep you interested enough to keep running toward the finish line.

The yarn, I have two words YUM and ME! Listen Della did the damn thing with yarn. The drape that was created after steam blocking…my God 😍

The verdict- make this pattern with this yarn! Don’t tell her I sent you but, if I were to make it again, I would ask if she had three shades of my favorite color. I’m just saying.

Last thing

I will leave you all with these 2 final things. First the wrist ruler now comes in bright orange 😱 It is exclusive to Fibrespace, a local yarn shop in Virginia. Call them if you want one.

Finally, I got happy mail! My necklace from Sassy Jones Boutique AND a box full of yarn from Periwinkle Sheep. The necklace was a purchase and the yarn was a gift. The owner Karin is so super kind! I can’t wait meet her.

Knit on my fiber friends….knit on
