The Fearless Cardigan

Yes I finished my cardigan, in no time flat! It only took me as long as it did because on Wool and the Gang’s website the description says it is knit in one piece yet the pattern said other wise. I posted a picture last night of the first half and trust me I could have finished last night but I wanted to be sure I was doing the right thing.

I think the name of the pattern is the best because, I truly feel like I conquered my knitting sweaters fear. The combination of super bulky yarn and them sexy needles, how could you go wrong. If I never say it again please know Β the sheer satisfaction of getting an entire Cardigan after only a few hours, is like a drug. A drug I am happy to take.

The dramatic affect of your basic stitch is to die for. Honey stockinette has never looked so good, don’t you agree? The crazy sexy wool helps too, because my goodness this wool IS crazy sexy, that’s for damn sure. I can not NOT mention them needles that came with this kit…my goodness 😍I did switch to my circs though, I don’t like my stitches to be crowded. But yes to the pretty needles, good job WATG! What this pattern also did was made me realize that I do need to practice my seaming skills, but when I tell you this was the best Christmas gift ever! If you guys could have seen me trying to take pictures of myself…πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ until my neighbor came to my rescue!

I especially love that it’s knit side to side. They do a great job with the construction of the cardigan, much like the Vivienne Cardigan I made last summer in the Philippines. Oh and thank goodness for Ravelry and the folks that left notes. I added rows in the sleeve and the body so I was sure it would fit my wide butt! Lol! Folks on Ravelry were saying the sleeves came out short and the sweater came out small..nope, nope and nope. GG is in cardigan heaven.

I can’t thank my kid enough, she picked the perfect gift in a marvelous color! I am in love, completely. For anyone afraid to make a sweater, please check out Wool and the gang..you will not be sorry.
Knit on my fiber friends…knit on

  1. WATG is a super place!
A friend gave me the huge size 19 needles and I made her a Harry Potter scarf. Big. Very very big.
Then I gave those needles to a friend who knits from her wheel chair because her therapist said she needed more exercise.
Those needles definitely are exercise worthy. We call them weapons of mass construction!!!

  2. LOVE!! You’ve done such a great job. I bought this yarn from WATG in the sale, I’d love to make this cardigan but have to buy the kit to get the pattern!! Super annoying!

  3. What color was that yarn? In the pics with you wearing it (lookin’ good girl!), it looks amethyst, but in the others it looks winey. I can’t find a match on the WATG website. Thanks

  4. Hi! Did you need an extra ball of wool to add the sleeve length or were you fine with the four balls that came with the kit?
