Weekend: Simple, Modern Knits my thoughts

Ok this weekend, yes this weekend I stumbled across WEEKEND. Are you confused? Don’t be because you know I will explain.

Most mornings after I handle my the personal business, especially on the weekend, I spend  time searching the Internet  for all things yarn related. Well this Sunday I stumbled over a book that was released in August. A book that I wasn’t aware existed. A book by Jen Geigley the designer behind the wildly popular Gaptastic Cowl. A book that I just instantly purchased because it screamed GG!

First let me pause and rant a little bit. WHICH ONE OF YOU WAS SUPPOSE TO TELL ME ABOUT THIS BOOK? Why didn’t I know? Can’t I sit at your table, why was I left out? I thought we were all fiber friends? Ok now that I got that out, back to the business at hand.

Gaptastic was my first real knitting project, so please know I am having a serious fan girl moment. Poor Jen, here I come all over her social media acting a fool! Lol guys you know I get excited and not everyone is ready for me. She is my new fiber boo 😋  and I don’t think she thinks I am crazy, although the jury is still out, LOL it’s passion man, PASSION! Anyway, after the initial shock of me, she was kind enough to donate a book for me to give away, so keep reading!

I know you are thinking, Sunday as in yesterday? How can you review it already? Well because when you purchase Weekend you get an instant PDF downloadable verizon. Yes, you read that right. So not only am I reviewing it, I have already made one pattern and am working on a second. What? stop staring at the screen like that,  you know I had to, it’s a book full of chunky goodness! AND I happen to have a stash ready and willing to complete the task at hand….knit ALL the patterns!

This book retails at $28.00 and can be purchased here. It is loaded with 12 fabulous patterns. Patterns that are, as the title indicates, perfect for the weekend. Jen has given us patterns that are simple to make and spectacular to wear! The patterns require my favorite bulky/super bulky yarn, so you know I am in love. I mean you have scarves, hats, sweaters, cowls that can be made for the entire family. This book is amazing, it’s perfect and no matter if you are a beginner or skilled, you will love it! If you are a fat fiber lover,  that alone will make you happy. You can’t beat the instant gratification like the fabulous Evenflow and when I say instant I mean I made it already! Yes THAT!

You guys know I damn near fainted when I saw this. Does this scream GG or what? So of course I just happen to have some Orange roving that I could use and that is exactly what I did! GG made that!!
