Four Purls Visit 2019

Four Purls | Another fabulous visit

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting Four Purls again. What is Four Purls, is that your question? Well my answer is this…FP is my LYS away from home. It is the best yarn shop in Florida if you ask me AND since you are reading my blog…then you asked me. LOL

Four Purls

Last year was fabulous and I couldn’t imagine this visit being better, but it was. Click here to read about the last time I went for a visit. I told Laura I believe she is the reason yarn stores are now requesting my presence. Thank you Laura!

This time I fully expected to see the Four Purls regulars or just the folks that come to see me the last time. I know, that is me and that self confidence thing. Can I tell you I didn’t know 90% of the folks that came to either hear me chat about the state of the fiber community or simply came to hang out Saturday? I walked away once again with a completely full heart

The Talk

As much as I run my mouth, you would never know I get so nervous speaking in public. I always try to make folks laugh, if I can do that then I get comfy. LOL! Most folks are like no are you serious GG? Yup, I am. Especially with a topic that can get ugly quick. I am happy to say all went well. Whew!

I shared my experience on my YouTube Channel, click play and check it out.

The Yarn

If you read about the last visit you know that Emma and Aspen dyed yarn in my honor. We named it 10 questions after the Saturday questions on my Facebook page Well this year they dyed 2 colors that needed names. We named them Floridian Zest and Tangerine Mist.

I have the Tangerine Mist in the new Bulky base, so I have to find something nice to make with it! What’s your favorite bulky pattern? Please share in the comments.

  1. GG- seeing your beautiful face in my blog reader always makes me smile. Thanks for bringing the love with you wherever you go, and sharing with those of us who can’t be there IRL.

GG, I just saw your great interview on “Tea with Shira” and you asked viewers if we were also obsessed with any particular color. Last year when Lion Brand publicized an anti-bullying campaign “Hats not Hate” which asked for donations of blue knit or crochet headgear, I loved the idea but wanted to interact directly with the employees of my grandson’s elementary school..Ss I crocheted 60 of my “California-style” hats in a range of luscious shades of blue [it doesn’t get too cold here in L.A. so openwork is necessary] and presented them personally to all teachers, teachers’ aides, administrative staff, cafeteria ladies, janitors, crossing guards and the playground supervisor [it’s a small school in a small neighborhood]. Blue is still my favorite color for now, for political reasons too, Maybe I’ll do something with orange [blue’s complementary color] next year because you sure look so good in it and as an anti-“Agent Orange” statement. I’m 78, by the way, and can no longer knit due to arthritis. Long live community!

  3. Hi GG….
I just LOVE ALL of your postings…I live in Maryland, (Baltimore City) I’m truly having a difficult time finding
a knit boutique extending an atmosphere of diversity and a warm welcoming . I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, now retired.I’m obsessed with everything about KNITTING!! I absolutely LOVE IT!! Anytime and anyplace is
okay with me. 🙂 I would love to meet you and HOPEFULLY connect with some of your followers. I spend hours reviewing your many projects and all the wonderful lady groups I would like to be a part of.
GG, Will you please offer me a few Maryland contacts. Any county surrounding Anne Arundel County or Baltimore County (Baltimore City and Washington D.C. would be great. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Every
time I look at you, I see my biological sister!!
