These are a few of my favorite things. Are you singing with me? The holidays are approaching quickly and I want you to get or receive things you like. Makers are not hard to shop for, one just needs to know what they love, right?
My favorite things list is just as much for me as it is for you all. This is the 3rd year that I am doing this list. You can see2015 here and2016 here. Please know that those items are still very much on my list of favorite things, it’s just time to add to the family.
2017 Favorite things
The first thing I will share is my love of enamel pins. Listen Instagram will get you in trouble. I blame my addiction on Cecilia Nelson-Hurt, lol she started this, yup that’s my story and I am sticking to it. Let’s start at the top and don’t blame me if you get addicted ok?
- I like big balls – Kelly Connors Designs
- The fist holding the knitting needles, the Wool heart and the hand knitting all come from Twig and Horn
- I feel like knit and Stitch Please come from Shelli Can
- The ABC pin comes from Melanin OP
- The Afro Puff pin comes from Adventures of Moxie McGriff
- The store pins come from the yarn shops:Do Ewe Knit, Espace Tricot and Knitty City
- The tape measure is from Justine Gilbuena
- The colorful sheep comes from Danielle V Green
I was super late falling in love with this ingenious tool. If you have not already done so, go get a Gleener! If nothing else put it on your Christmas list. In my opinion every household should have one. The Gleener will keep your hand knits looking new and kill all the fuzz on your coats and furniture. Trust me, you want this under your tree.
Jewelry
I always have some sort of Jewelry and this year is not different. These bracelets are basically a part of my daily wardrobe. The wrist ruler can be found at a lot of local shops. This one comes from Gina aka Skeincocaine on Instagram. She was kind enough to gift me a replacement, because who lost their bracelet? You can get yours here The KNIT bracelet comes from theThe Yarn Studio. I can’t tell you how many times a day I refer someone to this website for this bracelet. The newest bracelet comes from Sassy Girl Studio. I promise you I screamed when I saw this bracelet. Of course I asked her to make the stones orange, because well I am GG.
Repeat (old) Favorites
My wooden tags from All This Wood are just everything! I am so not sure why they didn’t make the cut last year, but I pulled them out and fell in love all over again. The quality is off the charts and they just make my knits look damn good.
If you know me, you know yarn always works, however, getting yarn as a gift can be tricky. I am here to let anyone know that ANY yarn from Plucky Knitter works for me? ok? Okay! I will do a post about Indie Dyers because there are so many. I just want to say this about one in particular…that damn Della click on that phrase at your own risk.
Pattern books will always be on my list of favorites because they never lose value. You all knowMr West is my FiberBoo so I had to get one and get it signed. I am also a huge Jane Richmond fan so I had to support. I want to make that cardigan on the cover. Do I have to mention how hard I loveJen Geigley? I heard she has a new book coming out!
Ok I am going to stop here. Make sure to check out the previous years list for more goodies. Thank you for reading.
Knit on my fiber friends….knit on

Im adding the gleener to my wish list!
I’m curious, how do the wooden tags do while washing the woolens? I imagine they’re sanded super smooth, do they have a finish on them? Do they absorbs water when soaked? They are so perfect!
Hi and yes that Gleener is a must. Now you have me checking. Yes there is some sort of finish and they are smooth. I haven’t had any issues with washing them.
