Last week I finally realized that I am currently in a knitting slump. I always take what ever I am working on when I travel. Knitting on the plane has always been my jam. I didn’t even take it out AND I only worked on it one time.
What I was able to do was walk on the beach (even though it was chilly) and just unwind. I think most of you know I work part time for Knitstars. This year is the 10th season so we had had a meeting to make sure this year is AMAZING.
I was able to see sunsets and Dolphins! I felt like a kid when I spotted them 🤗 I was a great time, even though there was minimal knitting. I flew back home on Thursday and instantly wanted the Florida chill back. It has been so cold, I am sure hell has frozen over 🥶
Normally, I go to VKL all weekend long. This year I only went on Saturday. As I have said over and over, the best part of these events for me is the people. I can’t tell you Iast time I actually showed. I find my favorites, get a hug and keep on going.
One thing that always makes me happy is the fact that my daughter enjoys attending the festivals with me. She will tell you in a heartbeat that she doesn’t knit, she is knit adjacent. 😝 Tickles me every time
The community brings me so much joy. I get to meet people I have spoken to virtually in person. I love that so much. Some of the people I’ve met, have followed me for years. I get all emotional.
Vogue Knitting Live 2025
The only regret I have this year, is I didn’t pay attention to the schedule. Why is that important you ask? Well, I missed the fashion show and the panel discussions. I also didn’t get a chance to see Joji. I want to go to her class and get a big hug, *sigh* maybe next time.
Most of my time was spent in Kristi’s (Birdie Parker Designs) booth and that was perfectly fine for me. If you click here you can see the Reel I put together. I almost tackled Julie from Cocoknits! LOL I adore that woman. The orange had all sorts of folks stopping me. 😋 We were eating lunch and a woman came over to tell me how her family was watching me and loving my outfit. I smiled and went over to thank them. I thought they were knitters, but they were just there eating lunch. That felt good🧡
The one thing I can say is my orange is definitely a conversation starter. People that wouldn’t normally say anything to me…almost always smile and tell me how they like my orange. I like that much better than the folks that stare and whisper. As a matter of fact 👀 I think people forget I am a human being. I am just a knitter who happens to like orange. That’s it.
Thanks for reading and watching. I’ll catch you guys next week. I am currently doing Tunisian Crochet😍 I’m fancy. 🤣
Tunisian crochet? That’s a blast from our past!
Love you GG. Have an awesome week!!!!
You too
Sometimes we hit that knitting rut for a reason. It seems it was so you could look up and be in the present. That’s quite a gift to yourself. I don’t know if you’ve noticed yet, but be careful with the Tunisian crochet. I found out the hard way that stretches are very very important.
So far so good! I’ll update you soon
