Saturday I drove down to Trenton to meet up with Bonnye and her knit friends. Bonnye has been trying to get me there for quit some time and this weekend worked.
Initially I figured it was just a knit group and I would sit and knit, right? Well Bonnye and Najaf the founder of Trenton Knit n Stitch had other plans. Lol! When I saw the post on Facebook saying “we have a special guest, come meet GG!” I was all wait what?
My day started at Do Ewe Knit because Victoria was having a trunk show. I had to show my face. I’m so happy I stopped there because she has bulky yarn and she is gonna dye GG orange creamsickle on that base. πthat’s a nice shirt she is wearing lol. Why are my eyes closed lol!
After I get a hug and drool a bit over the yarn, I jump in the car and head to Trenton. I have a bag with some of my items. Bonnye said bring samples π again I was like huh? They were truly excited about meeting me and wanted to see some of my knitting.
Can I pause here to say I am still blown away when folks are excited about meeting me. I mean it’s just me. I appreciate the love though.
Trenton Knit n Stitch
The group that was started by Najah Masudi is 10 years old (I think) and meets in a cute local book store called Classic Used Books. The atmosphere in the store was perfect for a meet up with crafters. I love meeting folks that become fast friends. I pride myself on the fact that I don’t meet strangers.
The diversity of the group was the first thing I noticed and loved. Everyone was working on something and open to sharing what they were working on. The projects went from blankets to socks. I won’t mention that Najah started casting on and then….lol
Show n Tell
I did as instructed and shared some projects with them. I showed them my giant boneyard shawl by Westknits. They were happy to see my Amy Miller wraps; Spring Fever and 2nd Avenue.
We knit, we made new fiber friends and we chat. Najah interviewed me now that I think about it and the time flew by quickly. Before I knew it folks were packing up. I am so happy I went and I think they enjoyed my visit too.
I can’t end this post without saying thank you to Bonnye. Had a blast and I hope I met your expectations.
Knit on my fiber friends….knit on

Very cool!
Thank you
i love that orange and purple shawl you made. Is there a pattern? The one you opened.
The big shawl? That is the boneyard shawl by Stephen West. I just used super bulky and us50 needles
Another fantastic article! Thanks for continuing to take us recliner chair travelers slong on your journeys. I had a diverse bunch of friends for dinner and a spontaneous show and tell of my projects and my sista’s began. Some yarn envy playfully ensued! Lol. Perhaps one day our group of two will become three? Knit on my fiber friendππππ love from mama rease. Knitting is borderless. Ok?
Thank you Mama Rease
