As most of you know I have an Etsy shop and I’m unemployed, soooo I am always looking to make something that will sell. I was searching through my stash for something else and I came across a skein of Cascade Ecological wool and Aztec Boucle; it was time to give them life.
I started out thinking I was going to make a wrap, which is why I cast on so many stitches. Then the snow storm came and I wanted to take pics in the snow 👀 yes, that is how it became a Deep Cowl! Hahahahahahaahha you read it properly, this became a Cowl because ❄️ happened! True story
Stop laughing at me, it came out really nice! I posted the picture and it sold immediately. The other thing that happened very fast was this: “what pattern did you use?” Well umm
lol if you could have seen the look on my face because you guys know I just start knitting and pray for the best!
However, because I love you all I made another and wrote down what I did. This time I used Ella Rae Chunky and Cashmere Royal Fingering. That cashmere made this cowl extra special! It feels like heaven!
The Cowl Pattern
So here is the Still Winter Cowl Pattern it’s a simple 4 row repeat that makes a lovely cowl/hood thingy
Holding two strands together (I used 1 bulky and one lighter weight) approx 250 yards of each or just 250 of a bulky. NOTE: I have to try that
US19 needle
Cast on 40 – I used long tail. You use your favorite
Row 1 – knit all stitches (right side)
Row 2 – purl all stitches (wrong side)
Row 3 – knit all stitches (right side)
Row 4 – knit all stitches (wrong side) this generates the pro bump on the right side.
Repeat these 4 rows until you reach 32 inches. Seam cast on and bind off rows together and enjoy. Please share your finished projects using the hashtag #stillwintercowl
Knit on my fiber friends…knit on
