The Stitched Portrait Workshop happens the day before my birthday. The location is just outside of Cleveland, a city I have never been to before. What a way to spend my birthday weekend, don’t you agree? This workshop is great for beginners as well as proficient stitchers. We will be reviewing 5 stitches and having fun with basic patterns in the morning. Lunch will be served and the afternoon will be devoted to your own Stitched Portrait based on a photograph you supply.
I can’t wait! I am truly excited, AND nervous! Because I am nervous I thought I should try to stitch a portrait to be prepared. Let’s not forget I just learned to stitch like a month ago, so teaching a live workshop is type scary. This my friends, is another great example of not allowing your thoughts to stop you from trying. Man, embroidery is what other folks do, not me. I damn sure didn’t expect to enjoy it and I truly do.
The first was my logo and those kits are back in stock. If you didn’t get one the first time around, you are good to go now. The crochet version is also available for those hookers. LOL
Alisa Barnes finished her kit and blew my mind in the process. I love that folks can make them unique to their own style. Would you look at this…she did an amazing job!! Man oh man it’t beautiful, don’t you agree. You can check out some of her other work on her instagram page
the workshop
I am going to another state guys to teach folk what I just learned. Who is super proud? *raises hand high* This whole process is amazing to me and I was afraid it wouldn’t come out good, but baby listen. LOL! I will admit I wasn’t so sure about the hand dyed linen, but clearly I know NO THING!! because that makes the project pop. Saturday will be so much fun, I am positive of that and I will take as many pictures as I can. If you are in the surrounding areas, there is still time to sign up. In the mean time here is a little video of my project.

Lucky Cleveland, having you visit!
It’s full of friendly people and fun things to do; have a blast!
I grew up about an hour southeast in a little rural town called Randolph, and lived in Kent for twenty years before moving to the west coast. It’s always fun to see what new buildings have gone up when I fly in for family visits. 🙂
OMG! I hope this went well for you. Love your blog so far, thanks for sharing!!
It did! It was a great time, thanks!!
