I know you all have heard the saying, what you think you can’t do, you won’t or however it goes. The key is your mindset and I was super sure I could not make a sweater. Ha! the heck with that!! I saw the kit from Wool and the gang and I had to try.
The sweater is made from 100% Pima Cotton is the most vibrant shade of orange you can stand. It’s oversized and lofty just like I like my sweaters and I made it! 🙂 Such a easy, mindless knit. It was perfect for my daily commute back n forth through the Manila traffic. If I was to do it again, I would definitely do two at a time, like I did the sleeves.
I am so very proud of myself. I truly doubted my abilities at every turn, when it was time to seam I was concerned, but I did it! I think the most exciting part is everyone’s reaction; especially those that watched me make it! Priceless
Oh and I wear it EVERYDAY no matter what I have on! LOL!! This was truly a proud moment, do you have a completed project that made you proudly yell “I did it?”
I too felt that way about knitting a sweater. I kept coming up with a million different reasons as to why I can’t do it. The reasons eventually ran out and I said ‘to hell with it’…it was a mind blowing experience walking down the road knowing I’m wearing a full blown hand knitted sweater that came off my needles! Some of my co-workers didn’t believe me until I whipped over the inside and showed them the little handmade by Collynda label. Lol…. I’m proud of you for not letting the thoughts of why you can’t do stop you. You did a fantastic job. Great finishing as well…..that Orange is everything!!!!
Thank you so much! I so get you with all the reasons why I shouldn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t but I just said you know what..TRY! And I did it! Thanks for reading
Congrats! I’ve been knitting on and off for a long time, but am about to start the Vivienne as my first sweater! I’m thinking about doing both the sides of the cardigan together on circular needles and then both sleeves together. Accurate row counting is not my strong suit, so it seems like a good technique for avoiding off kilter sweaters
How did doing the sleeves together work for you?
Hi!! You will love this project! I am a huge 2 at a time advocate, because well I’m lazy. Lol it works fine. Have fune
You are the best! Beautiful sweater!
I love linen the best, i have two tanks that are 15 and 10 years old, they wear like steel but feel like cotton/silk …
And now despite my covid brain lack of focus you are making me want to knit! Thank you so much xo Susan
See I keep hearing good things. I need to try it
I am also reminded of the hemp, top down t shirt I knit years ago, but had the ‘it didnt turn out to be the sweater I had in mind’ tragedy, it’s there in the mess, waiting for me to pull it out and rediscover. Hey! I could dye it orange!
Thank you for the inspo, wish you could come have a cool glass of something in my garden😊
Love Susan
Yes see if you can give it life
