I think I must be sick because…..

I went to 2 yarn stores and purchased NO yarn, yes you read that right! Me, GG the confessed YarnHo; didn’t buy any yarn..

Yes I have to be sick right? I mean I have been itching to be in a yarn store and to have my senses attacked. So for me to walk away empty handed is alarming at best. Is it time to find a 24 hour emergency care thingy, because clearly I need a Dr? I am convinced I am sick. I am ill. This must be some new disease, because who does that? Sick people that’s who. #sendhelp

Yarn stores near Deland

Today I decided I was going to find me a yarn store before I got depressed. Being away from my Shelbey and Gunner is hard enough; so the absence of local yarn stores makes or damn near impossible.

One of my students told me about a store in a city named Longwood, which is about 40 minutes away (trust me I have gone further). I got up had breakfast at the Waffle House, wait why was today this first time eating there? Anyway the first yarn store I hit was The Knitting Patch. It is nestled in a cute little commercial complex with good parking. Parking is key when I’m looking for a yarn store, see I can’t focus I must be sick. Lol ok back to The Knitting Patch. The store is a decent size with a nice selection of yarn! I spotted all sorts of weights and textures and colors. The owner was friendly as were the customers in the shop with me. Check out the view…

You know I loved those signs right? They were for decor only, because I would have grabbed them all! Yes ma’am I liked it!

One of the customers was kind enough to tell me about Knit! Another yarn store that was nearby. I jumped in the car to catch it before they closed. This shop was also in Longwood and nestled in a cute little complex. Knit! Is a cozy spot with shelves of yarn along with a few eye catching samples. Another welcoming owner and friendly patrons. You know it’s sad because of that other encounter I’m almost anticipating bad service 😟 but this bunch was cool and I would go back. Here is a look see..

Can you believe I left all the yarn in the store? Let me lay down because clearly something is not right 😋 have you ever left a yarn store empty handed?

Knit on my fiber friends…knit on

  1. Yes of course I’ve left yarn stores empty-handed! Retirement means a budget and purchases need to be planned. My favorite thing is a gift card for birthday or Christmas, or a bargain at Tuesday Morning, like the $1.99 skein I’m knitting from right now-out of the food budget.

  2. I think something must be in the air and I must be sick too! My husband offered to take me to Criativity on Friday and I declined. Huh!?! I haven’t taken advantage of any of the terrific online sales this weekend and I actually feel like I have enough yarn right now (GASP). Do you think there is a cure for our affliction?

  3. Sometimes you just need to scope things out. I have no doubts that you will be revisiting both these treasuries and dropping major bucks on their gorgeous yarn!

  4. Occasionally , and I do mean occasionally!, I’ll ogle over some yarn and walk away. You’re fine! But if this aberrant behavior continues, consult your doctor! Lol!
