and in the corner and on the shelf and, and, and….you will find YARN!! hahahahahaahahahaaaa! Thanks to the Yarnbox, I get a monthly delivery, right to my front door. Wait, what? is that what you said? Hahahaaaa, you read it right. Yarnbox is a yarn subscription, which means I have a legal drug, I mean yarn supplier. I don’t have to get dressed, leave my house, act like I have a pattern to go with the yarn I purchase (don’t you hate that? what are you making question? NOTHING!! Gosh I just want the yarn!!) or fight traffic.
So here I go, the confessed Yarn addict, browsing the net in the middle of the night and fall over this fiber gem. They were at the “sign up” phase and I almost broke my fingers typing so fast. I HAD to have the first box. The options were 3 months or 6 months subscription. Which one do you think I selected? *insert sinister grin* They wanted to know some other things, like your color preference (bright or neutral) Â and your craft preference (knit or crochet) I searched all over the page and no where did I find the “crackhead section” or the “just send yarn I don’t care what color section” …so I made my selections, paid ($35 per month) and waited.
Then one day, I came home and this lovely little box was sitting in between the screen and the door. Woo Weee I couldn’t wait to open it up and see, and touch, and squeeze and rub. Yeah I do all of that, to every skein!! Don’t judge!
That first Yarnbox (May 2013) introduced me to a yarn company by the name of Zen Yarn Garden. I was now the proud owner of 430 yards of a merino/cashmere/silk blend of fingering weight, fiber yumminess! The box also introduces you to new designers. Designers who offer of a discount and/or a free pattern. Wait, What!? Yes, yes you get yarn and a pattern all for only $35 bucks a month. In my case this is a a win-win situation. I will NOT tell you that I spend WAY more than $35 per month on yarn. I can drop a cool…nope I am not telling.Â
In 2 months I will hit my 1 year anniversary with Yarnbox. So I have received 10 boxes and I have no complaints. I think what I love the best is the surprise, the not knowing, the anticipation and most of all, the reveal. I come home and find that box and can hardly put my bags down for trying to get in the box!! LOL!  I have yet to get a box with yarn that I already owned. I mean I now have fibers that I didn’t know was used to make yarn (Yak/Bamboo combo).  I have yarn with beads and sparkles and yarn made of ribbon. I mean the has been money well spent. One of my favorite boxes included a yarn  from a company called Fable Fibers (June box). The yarn was Biography, I fell in love and I made the Lovely Ribbed Cowl  and a video <—-click to watch 🙂 I have also gone back and purchased more yarn from Fable Fibers, I love her yarn.
So yeah, I couldn’t go on without sharing the source of my happiness.
NOTE: I am in no way connected to Yarnbox and this post was written because, well they simply make me happy.
Remember with every stitch, always weave in a ‘lil love.

I used to belong to something like this only it was for quilters. I ordered the super duper fat quarter selection and like you, once every other month my box arrived. In the true spirit of addiction, I ripped it open, melted onto the floor and caressed each and every quarter yard of some of the most beautiful quilting fabrics I had ever seen in my life. I can see myself doing the very same thing with the yarn box. Although the quilters box was only $20 a month I think $35 is very reasonable since we both know how quickly you can drop a $100 bill in your favorite yarn store. This might be just what I need. So the folks over at Discover Card and myself will thank you in advance for this outlet to feed my addiction. XOXO
hahahahahahaa let’s touch and agree. You get me!! LOL yes far MOR than $35 bucks!! Thanks for reading!
does face nuzzling yarn a bad thing along with squishy and caressing a skein??? or just part of the addiction??? I’m drooling over the yarn in yarnbox….I cannot wait til I move and join it!
LOL, nope all of that applies!!
