I finished my Orange Love Poncho and the KAL is over

I finished! Am I the only one that feels fabulous when I can utter those words? Listen not only do I feel good, I dance! Yup I have a finished song! hahahahahahaaa I sing it with all my heart! hahahahaha.

If your question is if I danced this time the answer is ABSOLUTELY! This project is really special. I am still waiting for Madelinetosh to change their mind and stop carrying this color. So many folks tell me they don’t like orange, so for them to take a chance on me, just blows my mind.

Finished Orange Love Poncho

There are rules in knitting that I didn’t understand initially. I still hardly ever do a swatch (I know, I know) and then blocking, HA!! When I first started, all I knit was bulky and super bulky items. They didn’t need to be blocked, right? WRONG. A truly finished item must be blocked. Yup, I said it AND I do it!

There is something about the fabric you generate after a good blocking. I will admit that I am #teamlazy, however, you can’t beat the finished look of a blocked pattern.

I put together a video for the KAL to show my finishing process. What part of the finishing process do you dread the most? I will tell you that weaving ends makes my skin itch!! I try when at all possible to weave as I go along, because if I don’t, I wear the item…ends and all. LOL!

What I do love about the finishing process is wearing my latest piece. I have said this time and time again…nothing and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING feels better to me than saying “I made this” πŸ™‚

The KAL as noted in this post, ends today. I did it!! If you participated please make sure your FO pics are in the FO thread. Anyone looking to make the poncho can grab the pattern here.

See you guys on the next post. Knit on my fiber friends…..knit on!

  1. I hope people are not saying they don’t like orange because of its association with Trump. My friends and I all loved this color long before Agent Orange showed up with his fake bottled sunburn.

  2. I don’t like orange – for me – but that doesn’t mean I would never buy it. It is such a cheerful color that it makes me smile and want to knit pumpkins. Or make something for my earth-tone loving daughter (not sure how that happened to this purple and turquoise lover). If we all loved the same things the world would be a boring place.

Thanks for today’s joyful content – your look so happy wearing your new poncho.
    Stay safe!
