Knit Collage KAL and Life

Life has had me by the throat lately. I can’t believe it’s the last day of the Knit Collage KAL and I am just now telling you all about it. Forgive me please. Today I plan to share what I am making and updating you on my life. You ready?

Knit Collage KAL

If you have been with me over the years, you know I love participating in the annual Knit-a-longs 🧡. This year I am making the vest. I plan to color block it. I think this is what I love the most about this KAL, the ability to make your piece as unique as you desire. Of course I will be using the 2 orange colors they have..and I am doing my vest with the collar. If you are going to join, today is the last day.

If you are new to the annual KAL now that when you enroll, you get access to all 9 patterns (see below) and step-by-step tutorials. I mean where do they do that at? You are invited to zoom session with the KC community, Amy and her coaches, Cheryl and Pia, will be there to teach, answer questions and help you fix mistakes in real time. Did I mention the interaction on the app? Amy has designed a KAL that walks you all the way through to your finished project. Join us if you are looking to try something different.

Life updates

September started off with my annual mammogram and a trip to Squam Lake. While I was in route to Squam, I got a call that led to me discovering that I have Stage 0 NCIS breast cancer. YUP, life has me by the throat. I am going to have a double mastectomy as this is my second battle with cancer 😮‍💨

The number of doctor appointments in the last few weeks have me running and I am so scared. I am also ready to fight my way through this battle. As we come to the end of October, please make sure you have had or have scheduled your mammogram. Early detection is saving my life. Thanks for reading and please get checked.

  1. I am sorry to hear of your recent health news. Sending you a big hug and lots of support for future medical procedures.
Years ago at Stitches West you gave me an amazing hug when I was about to enter the marketplace. I had been sick for several years and was trying to get back to my healthy self. I always enjoyed going to Stitches but that year was different. Your enveloping hug made me feel so much better about myself and the days to come. I am sending you back that big nurturing hug.

  2. GG, I am so sorry to hear of your illness. I know you will be ok on the other side, but there’s a lot of pain between here and there. Be so very kind to yourself.
Thank you for the mammogram reminder – I’m late for mine.
