YarnHo meets the Yarnpimp

A Yarnpimp and a YarnHo meet in a shop…. hahahahahahaaa. Yes I used the brand new yarn from Do Ewe Knit called YarnPimp. I mean with me being a YarnHo and all! Lol, all jokes aside let’s talk about this yarn, this pattern and the fact that I made cuff down socks!

The Pattern

I think I may have mentioned that I love Amy Miller once or twice, right? Well this pattern is called Jimmies and I would make them again. The pattern is easy to understand. Amy explains all of the special stitches. I have done toe up socks before. Cuff down socks is a first for me. I’m not sure why 🤷🏾‍♀️ Thank you Amy for cute and simple pattern.

The love for texture is no secret and this sock satisfies that desire. I made cuff down socks guys!! If I had to do anything differently, it would be a stretchy cast on because that cuff is snug 👣

If you know of a good cast on that gives some stretch please share

The Yarn

If you have followed me for 5 minutes you know a few things:

  • I am a YarnHo
  • Do Ewe Knit? Is one of my favorite shops
  • AND that orange 🍊 craze

This picture says it all! Introducing the Pimp, Karen, the dyer, Kelly and of course me, the Ho. Hey guys hey!

Yarnpimp Sock is hand dyed, 463 yards blend of 75/25 merino and nylon. The color is a Tomato Cocktail and yes it’s my new favorite drink 🍸

I love how the different shades of orange 🍊 present in this colorway. Kelly does a great job of incorporating varying shades, from the lightest to a blood orange 😍 yup it’s my new favorite and I can’t wait to try it in a different base.

My Thoughts

I approve this pattern and this yarn 😋

The pattern ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The yarn ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Translation: make the pattern and buy the yarn.

What is your favorite sock pattern?

Knit on my fiber friends…knit on

  1. Beautiful socks!! Is that some k1, sl1 reinforcement I see, on the ball of the foot??? Clever! The Twisted German Cast on would make a cuff nice and stretchy. It’s got a bit more give than the long tail cast on.

  2. Those are cute! Lovely colorway, too. Happy 4th of July, GG! Have a fun and safe 4th with lots of good food and friends and family!

  3. To dip my toe into sock knitting I made the Rye socks (a free pattern) and they’re dk weight! I am not a fan of tiny needles but over the last year I’ve done a lot more with sock weight yarn so I’m hoping to cast on the Rose City Rollers (another free one) for myself soon.
