It’s January so that means it’s a Knitting Holiday! Yes VKL is like a Holiday for the knitting community and I am excited!
What is Vogue Knitting Live?
I would describe it as a Knitter’s Holiday! It’s like every knitter’s dream. I mean you have 200 classes taught by the masters. You have fashion shows and the artwork, OMGAWD!! And and that marketplace that you NEED all 3 days to get through it all. Because you MUST stop at EVERY booth, yes every damn one!
My favorite part is meeting the designers, dyers and my fiber friends! Remember last year I met Jacqui Fink 😱 and almost died!
So how does one get ready for one of the biggest Knitting events ever?
- Select your knitwear, that is super important. I will be sporting my GGmadeit apparel and orange knits of course. I am going to make Reversible Diamonds in Rasta today, glazed carrot 😋
- Select your footwear. Lots of 🚶🏾♀️ so be comfortable. I will have on my knitted chucks
- Make a list of your MUST see vendors and plan to visit them early. StevenBe and Do Ewe Knit’s booth is always jumping. I will be working at the BagSmith’s booth
- Get the fashion show schedule, so you don’t miss anything
- Bring snacks, you must keep your energy up
- Have an extra charger for your cell phone
- Charge the battery for your camera
- Bring a tote bag to carry all your goodies
- Keep your Business cards ready just in case
It’s my favourite time of the year! I’m leaving London for NYC this Thursday, and I cannot wait…I will make sure to stop by the booth and say hello on Saturday 🙂
