3 day weekends are the best

Weekends, everyone loves them and when they include an extra day….look out!! This weekend is one of the most famous weekends ever, it is the 4th of July, independence day, the official beginning of beaches, and cookouts right? Right! As long as I can bring my knitting! Hahahahahahaaa

I am on the road again, this time in Deland AND I only packed my Billie Jean Yarn from Wool and the Gang. I finished my Pop life Cardigan after having to rip back the band. Who didn’t pick up enough stitches the first time? Yea that would be me, but I got back on track and she is a beauty. Although I wanted to, I didn’t sleep in it…I took a few pics and went to bed a happy camper.

Let’s talk about this yarn briefly, it’s perfect. #thatsall No seriously, I love the drape, I love the material that was generated  and I have said it before but I just love how the cardigan comes to life. If you have never purchased a kit from Wool and the Gang, you are missing out.

This is not my first kit and it won’t be me last. Speaking of kits, I had my Ipanema Espadrilles shipped to the hotel. What are they GG? Is that your question? That is the kit to make your own sandals! How flipping cool is that? OMGAWD! I had to order it but I was about to travel again and they wouldn’t arrive in time ;( so I shipped them to the hotel instead. Woot Woot! You know I love getting Gang mail, but getting it at the hotel? BONUS

Is this the most clever DIY kit EVER!!!  You get the soles, the mixed tape yarn, string, crochet hook (optional) and sewing needle. I started and finished in like an hour or so. The kit includes two styles and is currently on back order BUT if you are going to order the kit or anything for that matter use the coupon code GGRULEZ and get 15% off 🙂

  1. You are super duper special sissy and it warms my heart and makes me smile when others comment about how special you are. YOU MY ROCKSTAR and you belong in The Knitters Hall of Fame!!!!!

  2. Three gorgeous days of knitting that were oh so productive. Finished a test knit shawl. Watch for it on Ravelry soon by designer, Heather Anderson. Managed to block it and another shawl I finished Memorial Day Weekend. Also started a Fire Dragon Wing KAL!

  3. Started working on the Azel Pullover by Heidi May at the Velvet Acorn! Chunky knitting, yay! Because I continue working on the Hue Shift Afghan from Knitpics, which is done on size 5’s, lol!
    It’s a good juxtaposition!

  4. Mary Anne Saag

Made an easy Sanibel cowl for my niece’s birthday the end of this week. Finishing a test knit for a group in Poland that has to be done by the 10th and enjoyed a quiet knitting filled weekend with the family and BBQ on the 4th!

  5. Do you know that I did NOT get the chance to knit this weekend? I’m about to remedy that tonight, though. My fingers need some needles.

  6. Girl, did you know that you are my new favorite thing (blog) right now?!?! I think I commented a few weeks ago telling you that I never knew you existed until that fabulous WATG post featuring you. And even though I had been following you on Ravelry because of your gorgeous Fearless cardigan you made since last year, I still didn’t know anything about your blog! I made mine in gray btw, and followed your adjustments to the T. Thank you for coming into my life! Lol! I’m glad you reviewed both the Pop Life Cardigan and the Ipanema kit, because I’m awaiting the arrival of both of them and the Tommy top as we speak! I can’t wait! Did you also have the pleasure to get the new Washed Out Denim color as well? Please let me know your thoughts and thanks for the coupon code
