The Month of May | A Review

May came and before I could really take stock, it was over. I have not one complaint though, all things considered, the last month was filled with good times, good people and good yarn. I mean what else can I ask for, right?

Let’s start with projects that I completed in May, shall we? It’s spring which means Knit Collage MAL starts. This year it was a make-along because crocheted items were included. Just like last year I opted for the crocheted project. I made The Dumpling Bag, designed by Vanessa Reyes. I made a bag that had a leather bottom for the first time ever! Talk about feeling accomplished. This was also the first time I had to add hardware too. Who is fancy? I am!! hahahahaha

The Wildflower yarn, as described on the site, is hand made from strips of super soft, cotton voile fabric. The fabrics are all printed in traditional Indian paisley and flower designs. The yarn is a happy mix of old world India prints paired with modern colors.

Of course I chose the Tart Orange color for my bag, I mean I am GG right? LOL Also I love a matchy matchy situation, so this bag is perfect with my bucket hat and my Floret Cardigan

I am truly considering making another bag because how cute is it? Besides, I have more leather bases to use so why not.

The next project was a collaboration with Lolabean Yarn Co, Lamb & Kid and Wanderlust Knitter and the project was a shawl. Sarah, Adella and I all had a color to work on. The pattern called for yarn from Sarah and from Adella. They both created new orange colors for little ole me *insert cheesy grin* The new Orange is called OMGG 🙂 from Lamb & Kid. Adella’s color is Picante.

The Lamb & Kid Visit

I jumped on a flight from Newark NJ, Adella and Jimmy left from Georgia and headed out to Bainbridge Island. If you ever find yourself on the Pacific West Coast..please go visit this shop. That place is magical and that’s putting it mildly. We had a party Friday evening to debut the launch of the Duet Shawl. The pattern is free and absolutely gorgeous! I literally finished just as the plan landed.

Saturday we had brunch, fun and made new friends. As a result I came home satisfied and tired. On Saturday I started the Fancy That Shawl. Sarah is the queen of combining colors and bases to create the perfect fabric.

I used Birdie and Elmer held together and as you can see below…it is AMAZING! Not even in my wildest dreams would I have ever put those colors together. I used the Birdie in the color OMGG which was held with the Elmer in Tangy and Cider.

In Orange News

Anytime I see something I like, my question is the same. Does it come in orange? Because of that very question, DellaQ answered. As a result, they now offer 2 Maker Bags in orange. *insert happy tears* Orange lovers rejoice! I dd this for us. Click the picture below to grab your favorite bag.

When I started this journey I couldn’t imagine the things I have experienced. So once again, I asked Knitter’s Pride does it come in orange? Initially we were planning for me to sell sets, but I could’t afford it *insert sad face* They offered to make me a set and did!

Whew! wasn’t that a fabulous month? I am looking forward to a Joyful June because last June I was sick. Thank you all for being here…I promise to be back soon.

Have a fabulous day…on purpose
