A new pattern called Wrapsody

Today was tough for me. I had a funeral to attend and I am always afraid that my own grief will take over. I am extremely clear that today wasn’t about me, but my God was it one of the most difficult days I have had to date.

I came home and wrapped myself in my yarn. I had been working on this cowl and had it all written up but I needed a name. I went to my favorite bunch of fiber friends on Facebook to ask for suggestions. The first answer from Bonnye Jean was “Wrapsody” and I screamed YES!! because that is exactly what this cowl does, wraps you in warmth.  Now that I had a name I was motivated to get it loaded on Ravelry.

I have made 2 so far and they both sold already. I am about to make another one using a different yarn. I have some Burly spun,  and some Twinkle Handknits Soft Chunky in a nice powder blue. I can’t wait to see it in a solid color. This pattern is a quick knit which makes it perfect for the holiday rush. Did I tell you this Buff Beauty from Briar Rose Fibers is the business? I didn’t? Listen this yarn right is just yummy! you hear me? So seriously, if you know how to knit, purl and work in the round, then make one or two. It is available on Ravelry now, so go get your copy. IMG_7357

  1. Friday the 13th was a bad day for so many people.
Paris isn’t about me, but my emotions are grieving and scared and angry. Yarn helps but time with my God helps more. I try to combine the two.

  2. Not a great dat for me either. I came home and wrapped my hand around a glass of wine and my body in a blanket. I didn’t want to think about anything so I threw up some a Cassandra Wilson music and chilled.

      1. I have some Cascade Magnum which I’m going to use for “Wrapsody”. Getting ready to purchase the pattern now. Question, what’s a good site for purchasing shawl pins? I’ve been trolling thrift shops but can’t seem to find any nice ones.
