Friday Favorites: the color Orange

the other day I posted a picture of yarn in all different colors and asked what color will I have trouble finding in your stash. The first response was orange and I was like IMG_0586.JPG because I have so much orange in my stash it’s not even funny. I absolutely love orange, the color, the scent and the fruit. It’s warm, bright and represents one of my favorite times of the year; Autumn. According to Wikipedia Orange is often associated with amusement, the unconventional, extroverts, fire, activity, danger, taste and aroma, basically me! Well not the danger part, wait you are always in danger of falling in love with me, so yea Orange is me!

When I look back at the big “firsts” in my knitting….you guessed it, they are orange. My Easy folded poncho by Churchmouse Yarns was made with Blue Sky Alpaca Melange and I have never, ever worn it without getting a  compliment.

    1. Thank you so much, oh that was a labor of love. I had to learn to knit with both hands and how to get the floats just right. It took some time but a kid on a sugar high when it was done 😍

  1. Oh man seconding the beauty of that colorwork – is that a cheetah print? Love love love. Deathly afraid of colorwork myself, but it’s one of my goals for 2015, at least to try!

  2. Q – What to do when your toddler son picks up every orange shirt, pair of pants, shoes, socks, etc in the store when asked what does he want – and the mom does not like orange? Change her mind of course! Now I love orange and it’s a good thing since one grandson loves it too! Love all of your orange. Curls made the prettiest orange shawl for our mom out of different orange yarn. It’s on the blog somewhere. Keep wearing that orange, you look great in it!
