Introducing The Shelbey Cowl

So while I was crying over the 1 point loss to the New England Patriots ☹️ I grabbed the LB Collection Natural Wool and my US50 needles to work off my frustration. I am a die hard NY Giants fan and yesterday almost gave me a heart attack. The game was so intense that I couldn’t even knit. I would have made a complete mess, so when it ended and my heart stopped pounding…the knitting started.  As I often say, my knitting soothes me and last night was no different. I needed to calm down and The Shelbey Cowl was born.

The Shelbey Cowl is a big stitch cowl, that is warm and dramatic. The best part about it is you can easily pile these babies up and have that Christmas knitting DONE!! Now I need to head back to the outlet and get the other colors, because this is going in the Etsy shop. I really like how this yarn presents the stitches AND that the shades are all natural tones. I think I will stick with the naturals for this one, but YOU can do any color you like. I could see this in a nice orange. LOL you saw that coming didn’t you?  When I tell you I will forever and always love fat fibers. There is nothing more satisfying than instant gratification AND I simply love the drama of big stitches!

The icing on top of the cake is while I was knitting my Shelbey was doing her hair. When she came out to let me see the finished results, she looked GORGEOUS! I said ooo can you take some pics in this cowl I am making. She was like “it’s not even done yet and I am going out.” and I said “Oh ye of little faith..go do your make up and this baby will be finished” She put it on and I knew I had to name it after her, so fiber friends near and far I am proud to introduce The Shelbey Cowl modeled by the one and only Shelbey

  1. Why did I hear her voice when she said you’re not finished and I’m going out? This cowl is gorgeous. Once I learn to knit I have to try this. In the meantime I will keep my eye on the etsy page. I love a GG creation, especially one named after the beautiful Ms. Shelby!
