Top 5 Projects

Top 5 most popular projects on Ravelry

Ravelry, the Facebook for knitters and crocheters. A place where your projects are on display to share with others that may be interested in making the same pattern. I love that you can see the same item made with different yarns and in different colors. I love Ravelry NOW! LOL that wasn’t always the case.

When I was first introduced to Ravelry I was intimidated big time. Why did I have to know the needles and the yarn and how much yarn and what color…geesh! LOL but now, oh now do I appreciate all of that detail. I especially like the notes, when they are included.

Today’s post is about my top 5 projects on Ravelry. You know the ones with most likes, the most hearts, yea them. Lets take a look at see what made the list.

Top 5 projects on Ravelry
  1. Number 1 with 193 hearts is The Kendall – a Slouchy Pom Hat by The Third Piece Design team. I am certain this got so much attention because I was featured on the main page of RAV! Yea I almost passed out, not little ole me! LOL this is a free pattern that quickly generates a lovely end product. I used 1 skein of the Funky Chunky Yarn (you need that in your life) but any super bulky with at least 82 yards will do. Psssst use the code GGMADEIT and get 15% off of some Funky Chunky. The Kendall
  2. Next on the love list with 80 hearts is Spring Fever by Amy Miller. This wrap is something I had convinced myself I would never do. Why? because Fingering yarn and miles of stockinette that’s why! LOL! But I did it, yea I did AND had professional photographs done too! YUP definitely a proud moment. I used Nice & Knit fingering. The colors, yea that was Karen from Do Ewe Knit? She is the best color picker ever! Spring Fever
  3. The City Cape from PurlSoho represents so many firsts for me. My first visit to the shop (if you are ever in NYC, you must go) and my first Rhinebeck. Man, I knit like a crazed person trying to get this done. I failed but I wore it anyway! LOL! I used the recommended yarn which was Purl Soho Alpaca Pure. I absolutely love the texture in this project AND I learned some new techniques. A Great project and 78 folks agreed with me.  I think I will pull this out and wear it soon. City Cape
  4. I called it Shades of Grey but the pattern is called Footloose and Fancy Free Poncho by Brenda Castiel. This project has 49 fans. You guys know I love a poncho and this was fun to knit. I learned the beauty of a slipped stitch and fell in love with Three Irish Girls.  I was lucky to grab one because they were selling out fast; the kit was exclusive at Do Ewe Knit? There is a picture of this in orange floating around the internet now..you know I cried a little right? LOL!
  5. Last but now least is Lunatic Fringe by Jennifer Dassau. I did this one almost 4 years ago. The fringe captured my attention and it was a blast to knit up. I used Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton in a lovely shade of coral. If I were to ever knit this again I would do a few more repeats to make it larger. I like a lofty wrap.

Do you post your projects on Ravelry? what is your most popular?

Happy Knit Year and thanks for being here!

Knit on my fiber friends….knit on

  1. I felt the exact same way about Ravelry in the beginning. It was so confusing to me! Now I get mad when people don’t give good notes or link to a blog post so I can get all the details. LOL

          1. I will have to other from you soon. I love your big chunky stitch.😀 This is what got my attention. Being in Ohio I need big chunky sweaters. ❄️☃️
