When Cocoknits and Plucky Knitter meet

Cocoknits, you all know I love this company right?  I finally met Julie at VKL this year but I fell in love with her quite a long time ago. Read here for the my first purchase. Let me take that back, my first purchase was a pattern. I made her weekend wrap, YES!! Look at how things work out that was my first “garment” I remember trying this on every time I went into the yarn store. I also remember thinking I can’t make that. UGH please trust me when I say, what you think is what will be.

I love this pattern and if you want to make your first garment please check it out here. I have made this wrap multiple times and what I love the most is the versatility. No matter the yarn type this pattern works. Trust me I have tried it! Here is the first one I made.  I say all of this to say, any pattern by Cocoknits is a good one, I promise you will be happy.

So let me get back on track. This blog post it about my latest project.  I am so impressed with this book by Cocoknits. For those that are new to me, first welcome and thanks for being here. Second, if you let me tell it I can’t make sweaters, lol I know, I know. I have since made a few at this point, but don’t laugh at me ok? Because, don’t say nothing to anyone, but I still feel like my sweater game doesn’t measure up.

THe Pattern

The pattern is Tallulah by Cocokknits and was published in The Sweater Workshop. This book is all about top down, seamless, tailored knitting. The Price is $35 (and it includes 8 patterns) as well as a workbook and step by step instructions. What I love the most is how she teaches you to make sure it fits YOUR body shape. Julie also dedicates a section of the book on how to flatter your body. It’s just a completely useful book. I am not sure what I will do next, all the patterns are awesome. You can see the patterns here.

I am sure you have noticed, if you looked at the patterns, that my Tallulah is little long. LOL I had to use up ALL the yarn..every inch, so yea it’s long.

CocoknitsListen I am so proud of the skills I acquired working on this project. Would you look at that shoulder? I know you see my shoulder! LOL I hated picking up stitches until I did it the way Julie teaches.

The yarn

Then God said let there be Plucky Knitter and the angels sang! LOL is that too much? Well dang it that’s how I feel. Plucky does something good to my soul. The yarn is Lodge Worsted in the Don’t be Koi gradient set. This was my first time using this base. Lodge is a merino, cotton, silk and flax blend that feels amazing.

I guess you would call what I made more of a duster than a vest due to the length. Whatever you do just don’t ask to borrow, because NOPE! LOL The gradient is so perfect, it’s like I am wearing a sunset. UGH you all are going to get sick of me wearing this one too! hahahahahaaa!
