Wool and the Gang, I love you

Wool and the Gang, we met 2 years ago, yea I think it’s been 2 years now. No Scratch that it has been 3 years.  36 months ago I fell in love with Wool and the Gang. The first time I got that box in the mail that said “Hello Gaye, Get Your Knit On”! Well that is exactly what I did and continue to do!

My first purchase I got the Foxy Roxy kit in the color Magic Mint! Omgawd what beautiful yarn. I don’t know what I loved more the presentation and packaging or that CRAZY SEXY WOOL.  That name alone is a winner, because that yarn is absolutely sexy, this yarn presents a stitch like no other. Then the rich mahogany needles that come with the kit if you so choose…So yea WATG is BAE! LOL!

It was definitely NOT a one night stand. I have made multiple items either using their yarn or kits and each and every time I am more than pleased. I had some leftover CSW so I just made up this cowl..nothing spectacular, but with this wool it was a stunner! Those stitches scream, look at me, I am fancy!

My daughter even purchased my Christmas present from them last year. She is a good girl! I wore my Fearless Cardigan all winter long!

So fast forward to the here and now, and I get back to the hotel after a particularly long day, I sit down to check my email. So when I was scrolling through hitting delete because: bad day. I had to slow down because I saw an email from WATG but it wasn’t your traditional emaillisttypeemail. It was personally addressed to me.

shock

Long story short Billie Jean (their brand spanking new, sold out yarn) was being born and they wanted me, lil ole me, to try it out! They said to expect a package in the mail shortly! Listen when I tell you I damn near passed out! ifaint

So  the Fed Ex guy, poor thing, I screamed and yea, I scared him and the dog! hahahahahahahaha! On the site they describe Billie Jean as such:

Billie Jean, she’s just a gal who has been made from pre-consumer denim remnants from production at denim mills. In jean production and like most clothing production, there is tons of waste. In this case, after jeans are made, denim scraps and offcuts are gathered, ground back down into fibres and then these fibres are respun into yarn

I think my smile says it all, but baby I can’t wait to cast on, I will take you all along with me. I have decided to make the Pop Life Cardigan in the Dirty Denim as she (Billie Jean) comes in two colors, the other is Raw Denim. They were kind enough to send me both.

The other thing that is super exciting is that for the first time, you will be able to get Wool and the Gang from your local yarn stores! YUP you read it right..no need to worry about shipping just jump in the car. So if your LYS is not aware you better tell them. I was so excited to see that some of my favorite stores will now be considered Gangsters, LOL that is what you are called once you drink the kool aid. hahahahahahahahaa

Just click on one of the pics and brace yourself for the eye candy, you are going to want just about everything you see. You can thank me later.  Oh and here is a list of Youtube videos I have done about WATG…enjoy 🙂

  1. I receive their emails and have thought about getting a kit. Let us know how you like Billie Jean! BTW- LOVE your hair cut!

  2. Not long ago I bought The Pop Life kit for myself, but have not yet started the cardigan. I can’t wait to get started, though. The cardigan looks so comfy. I found some same-weight cotton on sale today in another denim colorway (not made from recycled jeans, I’m sure, but still going to be cool…but that will be Pop Life cardi #2!).

Love your most inspirational blog. I’ve subscribed to your newsletter and look forward to your future blog posts!
