Fibre Space

Space is defined as a continuous area or expanse that is free, available, or unoccupied.; as in “the yarn filled every possible space”

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Fibre Space in beautiful Old Town Alexandria VA. I am visiting my BFF of 40 plus years and she was kind enough to take me. It was the perfect fall day, we had time together during the ride and she tolerated me in my obsession. LOL I love this chic to death!

Ok back to this Fibre Space, I am so very sure Heaven must be like this, it has to be. I have said this before but in order for a yarn store to win my vote it must hit my three points:

1. Friendly/knowledgeable staff – there is nothing more heart warming then being welcomed into a space and they nailed it! I instantly felt at home and comfortable.
2. Yarn supply – and they get a 7 out of 5 stars. I mean they had it all. starting with that table full of Neighborhood Fiber Co’s latest Super Bulky called Rustic Bulky and my oh my! They also had Miss Babs Hand-Dyed Yarns & Fibers.  Listen, I was just at Rhinebeck and the line for Miss Babs is ALWAYS ridiculously long but I got me some. Go Me!!
3. Extra yarn stuff – and by this I mean, the notions (they had Cocoknits all over the place) the hard to find magazines, the cute project bags, needles that you don’t see everywhere, Jul closures that I had never seen..you know EXTRA and man listen this place wins in every category.

I truly wanted to back up a moving truck and arm swipe the table full of Rustic Bulky. I had to take a picture so you could truly see my total glee.

Is that even a question? Yarn or Groceries? DUH! Yarn of course! hahahahahaahahahahahaaa!

These baskets are what they give you while you are shopping to hold all the lovely yarn. Ain’t they fancy? You know I want one to take home right? They didn’t sell them though, they are part of the experience and what an experience it was. I was there for about an hour, but thoroughly enjoyed myself!

Until next time, because there will definitely be a next time. I could straight sit on the sofa and knit all day! I had to take a picture with the mannequin they are so cute! LOL! So long for now Fibre Space. I will miss you!

Oh and you get this cute bag to take home your goodies. I didn’t get much but I couldn’t leave there empty handed I just couldn’t. I will say this…if you are in the area, run don’t walk and make your way to Fibre Space…you can thank me later.
