Knit Collage Fall KAL 2021

Fall is here and the maker community is buzzing with excitement. This is OUR time. It’s time for the festivals, the KALS, and the yarn crawls. I am coming to you to talk about the Knit Collage Fall Knit along. It happens every year around this time. The votes are in and here are the options this year.

Knit Collage Styles

Did you guess what I plan on making? Well I will tell you since you came this far. I am making two of the project this time around. Yup, I think I’m grown. LOL I am making the Loop it Up Kaleidoscope Sweater and the Shake Your Grove thing Poncho. You guys know I love texture and those loops were screaming my name. Also, when have I ever passed up a poncho? I’ll wait..never! hahahahahahaaa. I am super excited to get started.

The Yarn

I believe I have shared this story once or twice, but I will tell it again. When Amy first approached me to join the KAL, my first question was “but do you have orange though?” Because if I can’t have orange…uhm I’ll pass. LOL I adore Amy because what did she do? She started offering orange adjacent colors just for me. Do you remember when the Serenity Boucle Yarn came out in Paprika! I was so excited!

Serenity Boucle Yarn

Well this year she out did herself. The new color is on the Spun Cloud base and it called Joy Bomb Orange! I mean I could have just passed out when I saw it. On the website Spun Cloud is described as: Our Spun Cloud yarn is fluffy, feather light and soft as can be. This yarn is 100% wool with 2 skinny strands of sparkly lurex plied around it in a subtle thick and thin texture. Spun Cloud comes in giant skeins and a beautiful range of solid and heathered colors. When I tell you that Joy Bomb is perfection…I mean exactly that!!

This color is available now if you are not joining the KAL. You can grab some here if you are joining which project to you plan to make?

  1. Hi Gg!

My name is Paula White. How are you? I attended your Vogue Knitting LIVE! lecture, “Knitting Through Hard Times.” I enjoyed it very much. I thought of Books you may want to read:

    1. “The Strong Black Woman: How a Myth Endangers the Physical and Mental Health Of Black Women” by Marita Holden. She will have a Zoom call for the launch of the book on Tuesday, October 12th, 2021. See her website for more information.
    2. “Cherries in the Winter” by Suzan Colon. Suzan Colon does MedKNITation for Vogue Knitting LIVE! and she was a staff writer for O Magazine and Good Housekeeping. She started doing writing freelance work with the downsizing and wrote this book about the loss of her previous employment and making her family recipes.
    3. “Crochet Saved My Life” by Kathryn Vercillo, a psychologist and crochet enthusiast.
    4. “Hook to Heal” by Kathryn Vercillo, a psychologist and crochet enthusiast.

    Take good care of yourself.

Thank you again for your lecture. 🙏 😊 ☺️

    Sincerely,
    Paula White

  2. Hi! Can you please guide me as to the proper link to use to join the Fall KAL so that you receive credit for my sign-up? I’m new at all this & the technology part of it is overwhelming to me. Thanks so much!

  3. Hi GG!
Wondering what pattern it is for the sweater you have on in the picture at the top of the ‘fall 21 KAL’. I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it! Looks like a knit 6, purl 1, with a scoop neckline?
Great job on the Knit Stars wall reveal!
    Carolyn
