My final thoughts on VKLive

My thoughts on my second VKlive experience is pretty much the same as my thoughts the first time around.  AMAZING!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! So it’s been a week and I am slowly starting to come down from being #yarnwasted. That is until I read this blog post from Jen Geigley and I am all like “omgawd did that really happen?” all over again!

One of the questions I was asked was this “Is Vogue Knitting Live an event for beginners?” and my answer was ABSOLUTELY! Imagine a place packed to the rafters of like minded folks; a place where folks don’t stare at you when you rub the skein against your skin, because they get it; a place where mere strangers fondle each other openly, because OMG what yarn is that? A place where everyone is willing and totally able to talk yarn ALL Day! A yarnho convention, that’s what it is! hahahahahahahahahahaaa

Vogue Knitting Live is to knitters what Toy R Us is to kids..Heaven Click To Tweet

I often ask myself  “Self, what do you like most about VKLive?” and I am sure everyone will expect me to say yarn and trust me the yarn is nothing to sneeze at, but my honest answer is…the people.

I mean I met StevenBe last year but I did NOT expect him to remember me. You don’t understand how my heart beat increased when Karen (the owner of Do Ewe Knit?) said the owners of The Third Piece were looking for me, say what? Vogue Knitting live allows the fans (us) to get an opportunity to meet the makers, the designers and the sellers of all that we love; YARN!! No one that watched us walk the marketplace floor would have guessed that I had just met My Jen, yes she is My Jen and I dare one of you to say something different. Then to meet Mr Malabrigo (that’s not his name) but please know anytime I can get my hands on some RASTA listen!! What can I say about Jacqui Fink that I haven’t already said. I am still waiting to wake up, I simply can NOT believe I was hanging out with her, just WOW!!  AND I will never tire of hearing “you are GGmadeit, I follow you on_____!” That makes me feel like I am not wasting my time, that people do enjoy watching my fiber obsession

MY HAUL

I know you are all wondering what I purchased, well first off the yarn police, I mean Shelbey was with me, so there is that AND I had just purchased all of that Funky Chunky so I was a good girl. I only got 2 skeins from We Are Knitters in Coral and a heart shaped shawl pin, because well I love hearts and I couldn’t leave it there.

Now last year I walked out with regrets, there was yarn that I held and fondled but didn’t purchase. I can honestly say I have no regrets this time. When I walked out of there Sunday I was completely satisfied and looking forward to next year. This time (and I say this each time) I am going to prepare and take a class or two.

Knit on my fiber friends…knit on

  1. I was one of those people that jumped on you and yelled, “I follow you on Instagram!” Lol! You were so gracious and kind! Good to meet you. – tanyank421 on Instagram
